Criticspace: That’s really great; please tell us something about your journey of becoming an author. When you actually started writing and how was the circumstance? Did any person or situation influenced you to write your debut book or was it your childhood hobby of writing?
Author: The thought for writing a book happened only after Kargil War 1999,and that too after writing ‘small briefs’ about life profile of Captain Manoj Kr Pandey, PVC on frequent requests by many organisations of government and even in social field. Then only I used to get this feedback that I write well for his life and that too with finer details. Some of my school mates, friends and seniors were instrumental in constant buck up of idea. Then I started writing in the year 2005 as more of ‘my memoirs ‘ with Manoj , like when I met him first and what a great way to start our friendship; all credits to him only. That time I was working with Narayana Group as Physics Faculty at Aligarh. Being a bachelor I had enough time after office hours to write and discussthe quality of content with my colleagues and friends. Everybody would find it interesting enough, which encouraged me to continue on this mission. Meanwhile I discussed this plan with Mother of Manoj, who was too happy for my efforts and even blessed me to get it successfully done. She would always say that, “Bhaiya , aap kuchh bhi agar Manoj ke naam se karoge to wo safal jaroor hoga aur bahut acchha hoga aapke liye bhi . ‘ Then I got married in January 2007, and this activity took a break. I got into new lifestyle and different priorities, but one day Auntijee (Manoj’s Mother) enquired about the updates on Book.I couldn’t satisfy her with my progress and she said, “Bhaiya, mera jeevan rahte jaroor complete kar dena isko. “ All these words shook my spine and I decided to complete it within a time frame. In the year 2010, I asked Aunti Jee also to write a bit about Manoj, as we would frequently discuss about him whenever we meet and even on phone. She agreed to my suggestion but it all took another two years for her to complete this task. She would say, ‘I start crying for him whenever I write ‘but yet the task was completed by her. In between I kept on getting suggestions on my write up from my friends, which pushed me to continue this mission. I also asked, ‘Babita’ sister of Manoj to contribute with her memories of ‘‘Dadda’ as she fondly called him. It took another two years to summarise the content and get it typed and proof read. As being in IIT JEE coaching field, I was left with less time to complete this book. But rigorous work happened in the year 2013 -2014. I would work generally between 11pm to 1 am in night to complete this task. Also during writing all details of him, I would rejuvenate myself with all the memories get refreshed.

Criticspace: And yes, the most important thing we would like to hear from you is what is your message to those new writers who have not yet started their journey of becoming an author? You have been their source of motivation, please convey your thoughts with them.
Author: For upcoming authors I can say, that all you need a perseverance, grit and passion to complete this target. You have to be self-motivated in your mission to finalise it, and be rigid enough in mind to give a final shape to your product. It also has to be time bound with a deadline. Only your ‘Ziddy’ approach will make you reach the goal. Along with writing keep on taking feedbacks to get the pulse of readers for your book content. Take criticism more seriously than praise. Take suggestions from some writers & authors known to you. Be honest with yourself in pouring your thoughts and ideas, as some of the readers are smarter than you, where you can impress them with your genuine thoughts only. Take breaks if you are stuck up in your path, Nature will itself unfold the mystery. Consistency is the keyword to get the task done in a stipulated time else you can get lost in between or even drop the plan. Try to write something, which you feel is very unique and you are the pioneer with this product, then only it can make heads turn towards it. Try to make it error free, else it can be a big ‘turn off’ to the reader. Try to put your involvement in every step of it’s preparation rather getting it done by delegation, else the book can’t have the soul of your personality, which is very essential for any reader to imagine about the person, who you are? Actually when we write a book, we describe ourselves more through the content rather the content itself. It’s a big opportunity to make people of this world benefit and even generations to come with your God gifted ideas and knowledge. So if you feel yourself to be special enough with your contents and thoughts to enlighten this world, then writing a book can make you legend- immortal.
Criticspace: That’s really great! We wish you all good luck for your literature career.
